Launched in 1999, Whyville.net is the leading educational virtual world designed for children ages 8 to 15. The citizens of Whyville learn while having fun: they launch rockets and build robots, design vaccines and fashion, create music and start businesses, write newspaper articles and campaign for the Whyville Senate.
Created by scientists from the California Institute of Technology, Whyville combines research expertise in education with advanced simulation and virtual world technology to engage young users in learning and exploration.
