Our FUTP 60 student committee held meetings to improve our school's chance to eat a healthy breakfast. After many considerations and discussions we decided a food cart to provide a 2nd chance breakfast. This cart will provide Normandy High School in the future for many opportunities to start the day right with a quality breakfast. We are excited about allowing students to grab something quick and then turn it into classroom success. The FUTP 60 student committee set the foundation for future Invaders!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

This Play has set the foundation for FUTP 60 for years to come. Working together with administration, students and our cafe staff as a team helped to make this happen. The growth of knowledge of the benefits of breakfast continues and has changed our approach.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students were able to participate in meeting with adults not only at our school, but a middle school and 3 elementary schools in our district. The meetings allowed the students to be a part of process and gain valuable business experience. This also allowed them to see the differences in structure at each building.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

At our school we had two serious illnesses of main cafe workers that put back a couple of our goals. We understood and with staffing there was nothing we could do. Patience was the key and the future looks bright.
