Students are participating in an after school 3-on-3 basketball tournaments in the school gym. Students sign up their team, and a bracket is drawn. They play a double-elimination tournament with games timed at 10 minutes, or the first team to 7 wins.

How did you accomplish your goals?

This started with only 6 teams participating, and has doubled every single week. We now have around 12 teams, each consisting of between 3-6 members. They are constantly moving and having a good time.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students and adults work together by setting the expectations and everyone following them. Students are in charge of calling their own fouls, keeping score, and reporting the final score to the adults. Adults make sure the structure of the events are clear, and also assist if any issues arise.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We are hoping to move the tournaments outside once the weather allows. This would then allow for even higher participation having both an outside and inside location available. We are also promoting these by having the winning team getting their picture taken and posted on the TVs that are located on the walls in the cafeteria.
