30 Minute Running Club

At Thompson we slightly changed the Play to work best for us. The students had to set a goal of 10, 20, or 30 minutes. They had to run for as long as possible without stopping. We had Running Club four times throughout the year where the students would come in and attempt to reach their goal. After each running club, they would then set a new goal for the next time. This taught them goal setting, endurance, and about their cardiovascular system. Their end-of-year goal was to reach 30 minutes without stoping!! The students were awarded key chains for each milestone they reached! The picture is of our December Running Club!! Impressive :)

What improvements have you seen at your school?

The grit that is now demonstrated is amazing. When they didn't think they could do it, they pushed through to reach their goals. They are more determined than ever!
