Students in the 2nd through 5th grades traveled to Weston, MA. to spend a day at the farm after studying and researching farm life. Students interacted with animals and had a walking tour through the life of a farmer. Students identified various plants, vegetables and herbs as they were able to taste and smell produce provided by the farmers.
Students were able to observe local agriculture and understand the process of farm to table. It was an opportunity to learn the life cycle of plants and farm animals. They were able to hold chickens and rabbits as well.
It was a fun filled day in the fresh air and lots of hands-on learning. Students ended the day with a healthy lunch, produce to take home to share with their families and a movement activity.
