Last week, our Fuel Up to Play 60 team was able to donate about 60 pounds of food to our local food pantry. The kids made signs and spoke on the morning announcements about raising awareness of those who need food. The student body was asked to donate food items to receive a free smoothie. Our Snack Shack provided the smoothies and the student body provided the food. Together we donated $50 and 60 pounds of food. It was a great way to start our Thanksgiving break!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The kids came up with the idea and as the Advisor, I provided the time to meet with the students to plan the event. Our FUTP 60 Team made the smoothies, sold the smoothies, collected the food, and cleaned everything up afterwards.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We were able to accomplish our goals by working together in creating a buzz at school to have kids help those who needed it most. Everyone did their part from ordering, to serving, to collecting; it was all hands on-deck to make it a success.
