This year, our Student Wellness leadership team (KSHAC) vowed to bring opportunities to take charge of our personal health to our entire school community. Individually, each leader takes a turn saying morning announcements promoting healthy eating choices. In addition, they lead Brain Breaks in the classrooms. As a team, we have organized wellness nights that take place 3 times a year and are open to the community. In conjunction with our local YMCA, we provide free Zumba classes, kids fit classes, boot camp classes, and a healthy eating kitchen on our campus. Everyone of all skill levels and abilities can find something to do and help gudie them to a healthier lifestyle.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students and advisors worked collaboratively with the local YMCA to coordinate each event.

How did you accomplish your goals?

As a team, we have organized wellness nights that take place 3 times a year and are open to the community.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We will continue to work with the YMCA and any other organization to help grow our events.
