Aberdeen Central High School mentors Simmons Middle School

Standout athletes AB and BK took time out of their busy senior seasons to impart some wisdom on Fuel Up to Play 60 middle schoolers at Simmons Middle School in Aberdeen, SD. The pair shared healthy habits including: ways to stay active while not in sports, average amount of sleep they receive, favorite pre-game meals, and more. Then, the group was split into boys vs. girls for a rousing game of Fuel Up to Play 60 Jeopardy guided by their coaches, A and B. Jeopardy categories included: What Food am I?, Food and Your Body, Physical Activity, Food Groups, and Random Health Facts. Ultimately, the boys' team was crowned champions, but all participants gained some new knowledge from leaders on the field, court, and classroom.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

Central High School plans to make this a regular activity, planning several more sessions for various middle school health classes and elementary classrooms throughout the Aberdeen School District.
