After starting Jump Rope for Heart, several of my students went online to accept a Challenge. The Challenges were 1) to choose water over sugary beverages, 2) get 60 minutes of exercise a day and 3) to eat a fruit or vegetable at every meal. They signed a poster under which Challenge they've accepted. They will come up to me at lunch to show me their trays with fruits and vegetables and/or water. Some of them will bring water bottles to PE. They have also told me after school activities they participate in to get an hour of exercise a day.
How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?
We will continue to talk about how important these choices are for a healthy lifestyle.
What improvements have you seen at your school?
Students will choose to get the fruit or vegetable in the lunch line.
