Active Bodies = Active Minds

Our FUTP 60 student committee made activity sticks and placed them in cups for every teacher. They also made deal or no deal envelopes for each teacher. They presented these to the teachers at a faculty meeting where they showed them how easy they were to use. They included suggestions about when teachers could use them and shared stories about how activity breaks had helped them. The FUTP 60 student committee did a fantastic job!

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Many teachers had not been incorporating activity breaks into their classroom previously even though we had set up GoNoodle accounts for them and had the students show them how to use them. Since we presented the activity sticks and deal or no deal envelopes almost all of our teachers have started incorporating activity breaks into their students days. The students have told me that they love being able to get up and move during class and it definitely helps them refocus and learn.
