After surveying the needs of the teachers regarding activity breaks, we developed a plan to provide training and materials for classroom teachers. I purchased active learning materials and active seating options as well as provided a collaboration training on incorporating activity breaks and active learning strategies in the classroom. The teachers reported that students loved the active seating options and active learning materials. The teachers also expressed how much they appreciated the support of the Fuel Up to Play 60 program to encourage school wellness.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
Teachers were surveyed on their needs for active classroom materials. Students tried out the active seating options and reported which active options they preferred so that more could be purchased in the future.
