We've always had a Running and Walking Club for our 4th and 5th graders. This year we added 3rd graders and staff to the mix. The 3rd grade Running Club has been a huge success. The students are so enthusiastic and excited about being active before school. This year, our staff also started a walking club after school. We've had many staff members take 30 minutes after school to walk, visit and de-stress before heading home or finishing up their work. This coincided with the staff weight loss competition, which was a huge success. The staff lost a total of nearly 200 lbs. The winner lost over 30 lbs and has changed her lifestyle to support her healthy choices going forward.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

These Plays that were implemented this year will continue to grow. I would love to have all students, K-5 grades, have the opportunity to participate in morning or afternoon activity. As the staff involvement in this Play grows, I will be able to have more staff support and supervision to add students from younger grades in the future.
