In-Class Physical Activity Breaks — Good For Mind and Body

On October 4th, students and staff at Hichborn Middle School celebrated the FUTP 60 Kickoff with their first event - a school wide walk during the last 20 minutes of the day. Unfortunately the weather kept us indoors, but the event went well in three locations - the HS Gym, MS Gym, and hallways of our school. Each grade had their special location. It was an event that also coordinated with Walk to School Day which provided "Walk" stickers.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The event was suppose to be a 1 Mile walk/run event outside but the weather prevented it. Instead we held a walk inside in 3 different locations - one for each grade level.
