Physical Activity Participation

Students have the option to choose after-school playtime with two options: flag football or the Sports Club. Flag football consists of 2nd-6th graders learning types of exercises and plays that are football-related. The Sports Club, which consists of 2nd-6th graders, exposes students to a variety of exercises and sports such as cross country, basketball, soccer, etc.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

A challenges we faced was enrollment. We overcame that by having those students currently in the after-school program spread the news on how fun and easy it is to join. Slowly, the number of students increased.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

An improvement we seen at our school is commitment. Students were more committed to choosing healthy choices at school and home. The healthy choices produced more commitment in the classroom on behavior, learning, homework, etc.
