Community Involvement

On Sunday afternoons our students and their families are invited to a Family Track Club. At the Family Track Club there is a choice of a 1/4 mile loop, 1 mile loop, and a 5K loop. The students who attend Family Track Club most frequently were chosen to be our "torch runners" to kick off our school district's Road Race. All students K-6 were involved in the torch run. Four students from each grade led their grade in our torch run and passed the torches on to the next grade. It was great to see families come to our Family Track Club on Sundays and get involved with a family fitness activity!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

It was great to see families come together to exercise! Many families have been out during the week walking and running to get in shape for the Road Race!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

I had many families come early and stay late to help set up and clean up! This was great to have help from both students and their families!

What improvements have you seen at your school?

One of the challenges is with families being so busy with football, baseball, and many other activities. Students have said they have been running and getting in shape for the Road Race at other times too!
