We introduced various types of apples to our school and had demonstrations and taste sampling during class. Our Herrington group did an awesome job! Students took on leadership roles by planning a taste testing of different apples to all the classrooms in our school. Students began by writing an explanation on apples and on what their goals were to explain to the classes. Students cut the apples and prepared them in bags for the classes. Three students went to each class and demonstrated how to cut the apples, did the explanation, and students sample a variety of apples. Their goals were to have them sample a variety of apples, show how easy it is to prepare the apples, and why it's important to snack healthy. My group was very responsible and respectful during their demonstrations. I even got emails saying how great they did!

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Students are excited at our school. They want to be a part of our team. I meet students who come up to me and show me they are eating a healthy snack. It's nice to see them so excited that they want to show off eating well!
