AZALEA PARK ELEMENTARY STARTED A RUNNING CLUB PROGRAM THIS YEAR. THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN A SUCCESS AND MANY STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN IT. STUDENTS HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO GO TO OTHER SCHOOLS AND PARTICIPATE WITH OTHERS STUDENTS. IN ADDITION, P.E. STARTED USING THE SPARK CURRICULUM WHICH HAS GIVEN THE OPPORTUNITY TO THE STUDENTS TO PARTICIPATE IN NEW ACTIVITIES AND GAME IN P.E.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

THE MAIN CHALLENGE OF THE RUNNING CLUB WAS THAT THE STUDENTS TOUGHT THAT IT WAS A SELECTED FEW WHO COULD PARTICIPATE IN IT. BY ORIENTING THEM, THEY UNDERSTOOD THAT EVERYONE COULD PARTICIPATE IN THE RUNNING CLUB.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

AZALEA PARK ELEMENTARY STUDENTS HAVE BECOME MORE ACTIVE AND MORE INTERESTED IN PHYSICAL ACTIVITY.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

PARENTS, TEACHERS AND STAFF SUPPORT THE RUNNING CLUB. COMMUNICATION HAS BEEN REALLY GOOD AND PARENTS ARE ON TIME TO LEAVE THE STUDENTS AT SCHOOL FOR RUNNING CLUB, SINCE IS A BEFORE SCHOOL PROGRAM.
