The Northeast Middle School is proud to have its first team, the NEMS Thunderbirds, participating in Fuel Up to Play 60! We have just come on board and are looking forward to eating healthier, exercising more, and earning points and possibly prizes at the same time.
We currently have five adult members. Four of these adults are faculty members and one is a parent. Two of the faculty members are program advisors.
Nineteen challenges have already been completed by our students. Students have been putting up posters they have created all around our building. We look forward to meeting many challenges as we participate and endeavor to be healthier. We have chosen two plays to work on this year. One is the In-Class Activity Breaks and the other is Fuel up the Community.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
We are limited on time during the school day, but students have been corresponding with me through email and appear often at my classroom to get info and/or pick up their posters to display.
How did you accomplish your goals?
We are accomplishing our goals by communicating with one another every chance we get. We rely heavily on the internet and post info on our Google Classroom.
How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?
We hope to get the students and teachers excited. We hope to make it fun so everyone will want to continue the in-class activity breaks.
