Sue Russell,   Fessenden Elementary School
Physical Activity Participation
Our PE program at Fessenden has taken such a positive step forward with the backing of Fuel Up to Play 60. The equipment that we now have has put a PROUD atmosphere in our gym and fields. Our students are taking pride and loving the idea of saying "Great Game" after each activity we do in our PE times. They look forward to seeing what is on the field to work with and I have to tell you - it is your SUPPORT that has made this happen. I love teaching PE and the kids enjoy coming out to exercise and learn but when they see FUEL UP TO PLAY 60 on the field - they go crazy......... Keep up the great work.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Most of your equipment comes with lesson plans from beginner to advanced which helps a lot. I also throw it my own little extras to keep the kids on their toes.... Each unit we do we start then build on each day. In the end, the majority of students have mastered all of the components their grade level has set for them.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

I will bring some of the components out during Field Day to finish the year out and see if they remember and again at the beginning of the next school year.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

I had to make adjustments to the number of students that were in stations. It got a little busy when I went to another station to help students.
