We implemented a bicycle safety unit into our curriculum for 4th graders. This was a 4-week program that included learning about the parts of the bike, identifying important signs and signals, pre and post test as well as using loner bikes for students to practice bicycle safety skills.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Scheduling changes forced us to condense some of lessons. We were also forced to extend the lessons beyond the specified time period which prevented the next school from beginning their bike safety for and additional week.
