Frontier Central's Big Tree Elementary is in a suburb of Buffalo, NY. Every November we host a school wide Turkey Trot. All K-5 students participate in this event. Volunteers from the community come and help organize and cheer on our students. We use this event to help promote our Fuel Up to Play 60 program and encourage students to use the Turkey Trot as part of their Playbook.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
Adult volunteers helped serve water and managed the start/finish line during the various races.
What improvements have you seen at your school?
An increase of participants in our FUTP 60 enrollment.
