We celebrated Catholic Schools week with a physical activity day of Jump Rope for Heart in the morning and Zumba in the afternoon. One of the Jump Rope stations was using the bike blender to make smoothies. We used other blenders too and all students were able to try 2 types of smoothies after jumping rope. They loved them even with spinach!
What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
The bike blender device was more difficult to put together than anticipated, but I worked with another teacher who used it before me and had a friend help me add the device to my bike. We also had difficulty ordering supplies from our food service and needed an extra phone call to make sure the supplies were delivered in time for our event. Some very helpful moms supervised the making of the smoothies and the kids did a great job of trying new things.
