Bowie Wins Kids-Teaching-Kids 21 Day Healthy Eating Challenge
James Bowie Elementary students, staff and parents participated in the Kids-Teaching-Kids 21 Day Healthy Eating Challenge. This Challenge provided students with a cookbook of healthy snacks to prepare at home with their parents. There were 3239 students registered for the challenge and James Bowie is the overall District Winner with 40% of students registered for the challenge and completing the final survey for a prize package of cooking utensils. We received a beautiful crystal trophy and a $500.00 check from Kroger.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We accomplished our goal of being the overall district winners by working together with our students, parents and our school staff, educating everyone on the importance of eating healthy meals daily and using the cookbook to prepare healthy snacks daily.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Our school worked together as a team to accomplish the healthy eating challenge with daily nutrition education classes for our students and reminders of the importance of the 21 day healthy eating challenge.
