Our FUTP 60 Student Leadership Team created a Brain Break dance. It followed our school theme to "Be the Change." The team taught the dance to the rest of the school. They also created a video of themselves leading the dance and sent it to all the classroom teachers to use it as a Brain Break. In addition to Brain Breaks, the dance will be done as a warm-up in physical education class and also as a school dance to be done at assemblies and large school events. The dance has helped to build school spirit and inspire our students to "be the change" in our school and community to promote healthy living!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Our students worked with their teachers to have the time to create and teach the dance to all classes in the school. The Leadership Team inspired all students to be willing to dance and work together on our theme song dance!

How did you accomplish your goals?

We accomplished our goals by empowering our student leaders to take ownership of this dance. The team created and taught the dance. The student leaders inspired all of our students and teachers to "be the change!"

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

The leadership from this team will empower next years' team to continue this tradition of creating and teaching a school Brain Break dance! When we empower our students, it has a big impact on our school and its overall climate!
