https://youtube.com/embed/oJv1q7NY1jIAt our school, we already employ Brain Breaks, but things have gotten a little stale lately. We decided to create some of our own Brain Breaks. We thought seeing classmates on a video would get kids more engaged and excited about the Brain Breaks. Some of our 5th grade students took the lead in designing new opportunities for movement and exercise. I took what they created, edited it, and shared it with the school.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The 5th grade students designed and recorded the Brain Break activities. I took the videos, edited and published them, then shared them with the school.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We will use these videos for Brain Breaks, and will create new and better ones in the future. I think we can make some great ones, with a little practice.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Finding time for students to create these videos, without pulling them away from regular instruction, is a challenge. I decided to just use a few students during our morning intervention time. We just do this a couple of times a week.
