The students at Northeast each created their very own yogurt parfait. We have 400 plus students who enjoyed the opportunity. The create your own yogurt parfait was a kickoff to our Bobcat Breakfast Challenge. Each day the student ate breakfast they colored in a square. At the end of the week every student who completed the challenge enjoyed a granola bar.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
The adults collected the supplies for their group of students making the yogurt parfaits. The adults also shared nutritional information about the food choices and the importance of breakfast. The students created their very own yogurt parfait using vanilla yogurt, blueberries, strawberries, peaches and granola. The older students helped the younger students who needed assistance.
How did you accomplish your goals?
We accomplished our goals by working closely with the administration. We worked with the administration to make the parfait during a time that was already designated for small groups working together.
What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
The major challenge was organizing the supplies in a way that was easy and quick for the adults to collect. With the help of the members of the FUTP 60 team we were able to accomplish this challenge.
