This year, our school has rolled out Breakfast in the Classroom. This allows all 850+ students to be able to enjoy their breakfast as soon as they enter school in their classrooms. No more long lines to wait in, as this used to deter our students from eating. All students are starting the day off with a full belly and fuel for their brains. The best part is it is free to all our students since we are a low income school.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We received a grant to allow our cafeteria staff to get the coolers and dollies needed to transport all of the food to the classrooms first thing in the morning. Our staff pitches in with the deliveries.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Students are no longer hungry due to not eating, which gets them better prepared for the school day.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

Since we have the materials already purchased, our school plans to continue the program through the support of the staff at school.
