Breakfast for All at Ellis
Our school team has three different locations to get our students their breakfast. First, we are in the cafe for all those who walk or bike to school. Five minutes before the bell, we set up in the halls, one by the main door where students enter and then one set up by the bus entrance. We work at offering breakfast to as many students as we can. There are even some after the bell, for students who eat t in the classroom. Our breakfast participation is increasing every day.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Teachers are now on board. They realize so many kids are coming in without eating at home. Kids who eat breakfast usually do behave better and are ready to learn.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Teachers are telling kids to go get a breakfast and bring it to class. It also helps that we now have beautiful new flex carts. They are a real interest catcher, eye appealing and everyone loves them.
