We were the first school in our district to participate in the Breakfast in the Classroom program and after piloting the program, the rest of the district is also involved. We have been a Breakfast in the Classroom school for 5 years now. The Lockport City School district is also free breakfast and lunch for the whole district, so breakfast is available for ALL students.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The challenge we faced was whether or not to have a kiosk or have breakfast in the classroom. The tardiness from class is increased when not in the classroom. We tried both and found that keeping it in the classroom worked better.
