Breakfast Kiosk a Success!

We chose to sign up for the 100 Mile Club and Billion Mile race as well. We currently have 150 students participating and numerous faculty/staff. FUTP 60 provided free pedometers for everyone, which is helping the students track their steps. For our nutritional program, we are working on incorporating more Grab and Go options at both breakfast and lunch to make it more convenient so students are more willing to purchase healthy meals from us. We have also started a Breakfast Snack Pack option to provide students to purchase on the go, or it can be purchased and saved for a snack later in the day. This has helped increase our participation already this year and we are up by 4-5% from the beginning of the year. We hope this continues to help improve our participation as we work towards bringing the students in not only for good nutrition but to help learn how to be more active.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

We have had a 5% increase in our breakfast participation over the past few months since we started serving breakfast in the lobby and started offering Grab and Go Breakfast Snack Bags.

How did you accomplish your goals?

With the money from our grant through FUTP 60, we were able to purchase a kiosk and other items to use for transporting our breakfast. All we had to do was apply for the grant to help us accomplish our goals!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We have over 150 students participating in the 100 Mile Club and Billion Mile Race for the school year. We will use part of the funding for prize items to offer throughout the year for those purchasing breakfast.
