We have here at our school what we call breakfast under the stars. This is where the parents come to the the school and meet teachers and have breakfast with their kids. We took this opportunity to also make it a fuel up to play 60 night. We set up a punt, pass and kick section on our football field for parents and their kids to participate in. We also had our Fuel up to play 60 breakfast cart out by the football field so parents and students come get a helathy treat that our health teacher made with some of our student fuel up to play 60 leaders. The students and their parents had a blast being able to participate together with each other in our punt, pass and kick stations as well as trying some new healthy breafast treats. Our student leaders did a great job of promoting the program that we have here and encourging students and parents to try the healthy snack and to come out and particpate in our activity. The participation was great.. Parents were just as excited as the kids were to try the activity and enjoy the evening with thier kids. We are excited to say that our students have taking an active role in helping promote and get other students involved in the program here at our school. This was a great event to also make the parents aware of what we are doing in our Physcial Eduacation department besides what we normally do. The parents were really excited about the program and really like what we are doing. We had info flyers made so the parents could learn more about the program as well as gave the info on how to visit the website to be more involved with ther son or daughter... The best part about it is we have studetns that never like to do anything or participate in anthing taking interest and they are doing more and are more active.. Thats what its about. We have students that take part in our walk club in the mornings before class starts on our fitness trail. We were also able to get a second breakfast cart to put in another area of our campus because the one we have now is such a big hit. Great year so far with the program. Looking forward to finishing up the year strong with some neat stuff...

What improvements have you seen at your school?

I have seen great improvement in the amount of kids eating breakfast since we added our second breakfast cart. More students are eating breakfast due to having that option in different area on our campus.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We have our two breakfast carts out on campus in the moring for the entire year. This is ongoing and we also have the carts available during lunch as well. We keep this going throughout the school year. It was a big success last year and now having a second cart it is going great.
