Bring Someone You Love to Breakfast
We had our 5th annual Bring Someone You Love to Breakfast at Westwood. This helps us to remind families how important breakfast is to the start of your day. The kids are able to invite parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and basically anyone they love to eat a hot breakfast with us. Our Westwood “Ambassadors” make announcements, posters, help decorate the night before and host the Breakfast. We hand out flowers to the adults and there is a huge Valentine Heart bulletin board that everyone writes a Love Note on. The kids serve the breakfast and take pictures. On a normal  breakfast day, we serve approx. 50 kids daily. The number of  breakfasts we served this year was 288!! Every year, the numbers go up! It is a fun morning for all! This year, we had our mascot ROAR help us out!

How did you accomplish your goals?

By being a team. We get everyone excited about the event. The "ambassadors" talk during lunch periods about how important BF is in order to start your day. We send info home about what a healthy breakfast would consist of along with easy recipes. We ask if the kids eat BF at home and what they eat. As the event gets closer everyone is talking about who they are bringing. Its just a fun morning that out Principal and all the staff helps promote.
