Bulldogs Take the Challenge

Lithonia Middle School Bulldogs take the challenge! Parents pulled together and organized a "Breakfast Club." Each week, the football team is invited to a healthy breakfast outside the locker room. All players are encouraged to eat light and healthy before games on Saturday morning. FUEL UP TO PLAY 60 CHALLENGE ACCEPTED! Healthy breakfast: multi-grain bread, eggs, turkey bacon, oatmeal, yogurt, Nutri-Grain Bars, fresh strawberries, and bananas!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Parents and students researched healthy game-day foods and worked together creating a healthy game-day menu.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Our first game-day breakfast was served.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We plan to have breakfast outside the locker room each week. The football team will invite cheerleaders and the dance team to come out for breakfast. Also, coaches work collaboratively to encourage other sports teams to promote healthy breakfast.
