Maryland Ave Montessori was able to use Fuel Up to Play 60 Funds to buy a speaker system, blenders, and smoothie ingredients. With these items we were able to hold an all-school smoothie event and pump up our after school Cardio Party class. Students created smoothie recipes at their homes and then were able to make them at school to share with their classmates. Then the smoothies were used as a snack for our popular after school program, Cardio Party.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

We had students with their parents create smoothie recipes. Then the students had to work with school staff to recreate the smoothie recipes they turned in. As a team we were able to serve the entire school community over 400 smoothies.
