In PE class we have been playing lots of games that work on their cardio. Jumping rope with long and short ropes is popular. The students can really show off. We have made jogging laps more fun by adding quarterbacks passing to runners as if they are receivers in the Super Bowl. A new game from the State Convention is popular also. Using dice and hula hoops they work on math skills by rolling dice with an opponent. Winner advances through the hoops while the loser runs a lap. Having so many fun games makes them eager to run.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

I will connect improving their heart rate to other activities such as the summer Olympics showing how training improves your chance of success in sports.
