In Texas we have a program called CATCH. This program is to promote moderate to vigorous activity and instill and develop cardiovascular health. This program is done during part of recess time. To make this structured time more fun and engaging, we came up with themed days. Our themed days are Mile Monday, Tag Tuesday, Workout Wednesday, Teamwork Thursday, and Fitness Friday. Each grade level has a bag of equipment to play games with as well as work out stations they can check out. Our goal was to make recess and our play ground a more exciting place!
