Community Involvement

When we first began this endeavor, we were expecting only a few people to come out to join us. Having the high school track across the street from our middle school helped us get the students going. One of our members thought it would be a great way to get family and friends moving and trying to get healthier, so she began the 100 Mile Club. They met twice a week for about a month just to see the turn out. It started off slowly but soon built up after people from the community saw young and old walking the track once a week. Our Fuel Up to Play 60 group then started to design a flyer to invite others to join.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

We all worked well together. We had fun and enjoyed each other's company. When we would see someone start to slow down or want to give up, we showered them with encouragement.
