At Dr. William Long Elementary, our students and staff have teamed up with the School Districts Child Nutrition Program to promote healthy eating and weight loss. Members of Fuel Up To Play 60 have also helped get a marathon club going that meets up 4 times a week and runs. Students and staff are encouraged to make healthier choices, and engage in physical activity.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students as well as staff encourage one another to eat and be healthier.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We have put up posters and visual aids throughout the campus encouraging a healthier life style. Students and staff are also reminded on a daily bases to eat healthier and get active.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Students as well as staff have said that they have had more energy throughout the day and most importantly, many have lost weight.
