After explaining the importance of physical activity through running, the coaches, along with the students, decided that we would begin to log the miles that the students run during PE and recess. Our goal was to run 1,000 miles a week. We are happy to announce that we are averaging just over 1,000 miles each week. The students are eager to accomplish this goal and enjoy participating in our Play. We are very proud of our students and hope to continue our Play throughout the school year.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We will do our best to continue to log the miles that our students run. We know that obstacles (weather, change of schedules, etc.) will prohibit us from doing this every day, but we will do our best to stay dedicated to our Play.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

We have noticed that our students are more eager to run and participate in all physical activities.
