We held a food drive and were able to put together Christmas baskets for our families in need. We talked about creating healthy, colorful meals. The baskets included a ham, fruits, vegetables, grains, and a sweet. The event was a huge success and we helped many families to have healthy food for Christmas and over the break.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students and staff were all involved. Every classroom participated in collecting and organizing the food. The staff turned in names of families that could use some help and our counselor contacted the families.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We set a goal of 15 baskets, and we made more than that!

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

The biggest problem we faced was getting expired food or things that were pretty damaged. We tried to talk with the students in PE about checking the dates and condition of the items.
