Cirrus Academy Eagles Soar by Fueling Up with Breakfast
Cirrus Academy Charter School has soared with Breakfast in the Classroom (K-5) and Grab and Go (6-8) during the 2017-2018 school year. Our participation was only 18% and is now 53%. Our coaching staff tracks the physical activity of our students by using the pedometers (also purchased with Fuel Up to Play 60 funds on a daily basis. The Food Service Management Company we employ has provided healthy meal eating patterns by including milk, yogurt and smoothies into weekly meals.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

The most noticeable improvement was participation.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Teamwork and communication allowed us to accomplish our goals by working with the Food Service Management Staff, Teachers, Students and Parents. We kept everyone involved and informed about our overall mission.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

To make this last, I'd like to use the equipment we've acquired, continue to build momentum with the students and staff, and allow our Soaring Eagles the opportunity to flourish.
