CJ Kick Off Football Skills and Drills and Meet your Local Dairy Farmer
We held our whole school Kick Off and invited a local Dairy Farmer to come and talk with the students about dairy farming and how products make it to the table from the farm. We also invited a local high school varsity football team to come and lead the whole school through stations of football skills and drills. Everyone had a great time.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The student FUTP 60 team invited a local dairy farmer, the high school varsity football players, planned the event, set date, time, and then invited the whole school. Directions were given to each teacher, so they knew where they were to bring their class to listen to the presentation by the dairy farmer and then the proceed to the activity. The Student Team introduced the guests to the whole school and helped lead groups of students.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We had a meeting to plan the activity, gave assignments to students with the timeline and then implemented the Kick Off. We have been doing this for several years, so students are getting pretty good at knowing what to do.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We encourage students to eat a healthy breakfast and make healthy eating choices throughout the day. We run activities, plays and class challenges throughout the year to keep students focused on being active and making healthy choices.
