For the 2015-2016 school year, Club Estates participated in something we do every day! Making our school a healthy environment with staff wellness, physical education, nutrition education, and community and parent involvement helps everyone play a part in a healthy school. One of our activities was Walk Across Texas! We walk or run every day before our PE class activities begin and chart our miles on the Walk Across Texas website. We also incorporate parents to help the students outside of school to chart their bonus miles outside of school. The students then turn in those bonus miles to the coaches and we chart the bonus miles for that grade level. The program will be over but together we will continue to run and walk before all of our PE Activities. This program will help to establish a habit of regular physical activity for a better health. The FitnessGram also found that students who had a higher level of fitness also had a better school performance and attendance. Students and adults at our school work together by encouraging everyone to be active and eat healthier. We brought in different programs for our students like the Mobile Dairy Cow presentation, which taught students the process of Farm to Fridge. The Southwest Mobile Dairy Cow showed our student the process of milk, starting with the cow and how it gets back to our fridge. We will continue to make everyone active and healthy students at Club Estates. Adults at our school take the time to support and model this healthy habit to our students by sponsoring the running club and dancing teams at our school.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?
