Community Involvement, Student Leadership, Teamwork
Our school began a contest to collect soup cans for the needy. The Fuel Up to Play 60 team had won the Mason Crosby football in December. We decided to have the main prize as the football. The FUTP 60 team went to each classroom and explained the rules of the contest. They also displayed the football and explained how the winner would be rewarded with this prize. On the last day of the contest the school cheered for the 4th graders who collected the most. A name was drawn from a hat to see who won the football. The real winners were the needy. In one week the school collected more than 1,000 soup cans.!!
What improvements have you seen at your school?
The FUTP 60 team has shown great leadership, sportsmanship and generosity due to this activity.
