Physical Activity Participation

Our Marathon Kids hosted the first ever Color Run at Gilbert Elementary on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. Students in grades 2nd-5th participated in the run! It was a great way to promote our running program and to encourage students to be active outdoors!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students helped to promote the event and to plan the race. Our goal was to attract students to running and hopefully to increase the size of our running club for next school year.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

We had to reschedule the race twice due to bad weather, but in the end it worked out. We had a beautiful race day and we were thankful that our principal was flexible and supportive of our event.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We hope to build on the momentum from the event and encourage our students to keep being active and to join our running club.
