Kirksey Middle School held a community breakfast to showcase the wonderful changes made to school breakfast. Senator Boozman, City of Rogers Mayor, the superintendent, PTO president and school board members were all in attendance. The student team sent out the invitations and made posters to welcome their guests. Every member of the leadership team had a job the morning of the event, such as handing out tickets for breakfast, holding signage in car rider line, making announcements, and giving away prizes. Students, teachers and guests were all offered breakfast for free during the event. The menu highlighted fruit/yogurt/granola parfaits and fresh fruit smoothies. Both these tasty and healthy options are easy to grab and go. Breakfast hours have been extended by 15 minutes to better serve the students arriving on later buses and students are now allowed to eat breakfast in homeroom. The overall opinion of the new breakfast items is…YUMMY! This is a SUCCESS!
