Community Involvement

The Lincoln School Fuel Up to Play 60 Leadership Team and The Prince of Peace Church Garden Club will be working together on the church's garden this school year. The teams met last week and discussed the current state of the garden and future plans. The students tasted the last remaining produce, parsley and tomatoes. We discussed how to keep out animals, how to make the best use of sunlight, and what plants would grow well together. We'll continue meeting over the fall and winter months and plant in the spring. The students will get the opportunity to cook with the produce in the spring and summer months.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The students have some great ideas on how to maximize the space and sunlight in the garden. The garden club and students will work together to create a bountiful garden.
