Community Park Event

To help prepare our community for summer, we held a community park event that reminded everyone of activities they could do in their own yard or ar the city park. We had high school athletes and coaches on hand to promote their sports and play with the kids, teaching them basic skills to their sport. We had local experts in yoga, soccer, disc golf and tennis to put on mini-sessions for all ages. We had many other activities going on that met the needs of every age and every athletic ability. Overall, the event was a huge success!

How did you accomplish your goals?

We had over 100 people in attendance and felt that met our expectations, since this was the first event like this we have ever held.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Finding a date that worked for all events planned was difficult. We continued to have back-up adults for the different events in case our original picks cancelled or were unable for the selected date.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students and adults had to discuss the events taking place and agree on the role everyone would play.
