Physical Activity Participation
Our Fit Kids program challenges students to strengthen their bodies in a cross fit type format. I set up 15 stations in the gym. Each station has 6 students. On the go signal, the students perform a strength/agility station for one minute, after the minute, I blow the whistle and the students jog a complete lap around the gym until they reach their next station. This students get both cardio and muscle building in 25 minutes. This is a great way to exercise while moving at a nonstop pace.
What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
The only challenge that I faced was having over 100 students sign up for the afterschool program and narrowing the selection down to the first 60 to sign up.
