Corpus Christi School received a blender as part of an equipment grant for Wethersfield schools. The school participated in a smoothie recipe contest with countless entries! The two winning entries were prepared by food service staff during lunch and all students had the opportunity to try both smoothies. This event was a Kick-off to the new smoothie program that started at the schools, thanks to funding from Fuel Up to Play 60!

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

We had many entries, but working with the Food Service Director and an Intern, we picked the recipes that were unique but also tasted good and met all requirements of the recipe contest!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We would like to continue having recipe contests with different themes, to continue to have students involved and excited.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Teachers encouraged students to submit recipes for the contest. Students were excited for the opportunity to have their recipes selected and to win a prize!
